Los Navalucillos (also includes Robledo del Buey, Los Alares and Valdeazores), a beautiful town located in the Montes de Toledo, stands out for its impressive natural environment. Located in the Jara Region and known as the Cabañeros Summit, this Castilla-La Mancha town offers landscapes worthy of admiration.
The enjoyment of nature in Los Navalucillos es una experiencia única. Los visitantes pueden relajarse tumbados en la hierba, pasear por las orillas del río Pusa o maravillarse con la cascada de agua «La Chorrera», que cae desde 15 metros de altura en el Chorro, en pleno monte Rocigalgo.
The Los Navalucillos City Council has invested considerably in the development of tourism in the area, building two rural houses and promoting alternative routes. The Tourist Office provides all the necessary information so that visitors enjoy their stay and feel at home.
Agriculture is an important activity in Los Navalucillos, with extensive areas dedicated to the cultivation of olives and cereals. The olive oil produced in local oil mills is of high quality, extra virgin and with a special flavor.
Livestock farming is also relevant in the area, with extensive goat and sheep farming, as well as intensive pig farming. The local industry stands out in the production of homemade sausages and fresh and cured cheeses with exquisite flavor. The carpenters-craftsmen work with wood to create furniture of various styles, and leather goods are a tradition in the town, with the artisanal manufacture of bags, belts and other leather items. In addition, the sweets are also handmade, with delicacies such as buns, flakes, donuts and shortbreads.
El pueblo de Los Navalucillos, ubicado en los Montes de Toledo, tiene una historia que se remonta a la Edad Media, con su fundación entre 1142 y 1209, según documentos históricos. Durante siglos, ha sido una tierra de paso de diferentes civilizaciones, como los romanos, visigodos y mozárabes, dejando rastros arqueológicos como los «lucillos», sarcófagos de piedra.
In 1492, with the expulsion of the Jews, many of them settled in Los Navalucillos, leaving some customs that still persist today. During the 15th and 17th centuries, the town experienced continuous growth and became an important producing center for oil, cheese and honey, attracting migrants from the poorest Extremadura.
The 18th century was the moment of greatest splendor of Los Navalucillos, with an ecclesiastical and administrative union of the two Navalucillos, achieved by Cardinal Lorenzana. However, the population has decreased in recent years, and currently, the town is focused on promoting rural tourism as an economic activity to recover its past splendor.
